There is an electric buggy available for hire with Tangalooma Hilltop Haven at a cost of $70/day (prices subject to change). The Buggy can be used on the designated internal Resort roads between the house and the two designated buggy parking areas at (1) the Resort ‘back of house’ area or (2) adjacent to the helicopter landing area.

NOTE: Buggy’s can only enter designated areas. No-go areas are identified by red lines painted on the road. Buggy’s must not cross these lines.
Tangalooma Island Resort carefully monitors buggy use and may confiscate keys and/or issue fines for transgressions over the red lines or irresponsible use of the buggy.

Any deposit paid, less a $75 administration fee, is refundable up to two months prior to your arrival date, or three months for peak season bookings. If you cancel your booking after that time your deposit will only be refunded if a substitute booking is taken at the same rate for the property including the same dates.
If you are unable to travel to or from Moreton Island because Barge, ferry or launch services are cancelled due to severe weather no refund will be given. Please make your own enquiries regarding insurance to cover this eventuality.

As Moreton Island is a sand Island (3rd largest in the world) the only vehicles that operate on the Island are 4WD.
Providing your vehicle is a 4WD, you can drive it on the island as all of the tracks on the island are built for 4WD vehicles only.
It is not recommended to bring an All-Wheel Drive vehicle across as they are too low for proper clearance of the tracks.

NO 4WD?:
If you will not be bringing a 4WD vehicle to the Island you will need to catch the Tangalooma Resort Passenger Launch which departs from Holt Street Wharf, Pinkenba and travels to the Tangalooma Resort Jetty at least twice daily. Launch transfers cost $80 per adult and $45 per child return for Tangalooma guests). A gated car park is available at Holt St. Wharf with parking charged at $15 per day or $60 per week. Bookings are essential. The number to call for reservations is (07) 3637 2000 or 1300 652 250 within Australia).
The Resort mini bus can be booked to take your guests and luggage from the Jetty to your Tangalooma Hilltop House accommodation. The driver is to be paid $15 cash at the time of the trip. The charge is per trip and not per person. NOTE: This information is provided in good faith and may change from time-to-time at the discretion of the service provider.

The MiCat vehicle and passenger Ferry from Howard Smith Drive, Lytton at the Port of Brisbane to the Tangalooma Wrecks is the only vehicle Ferry operating between Brisbane and Tangalooma so early bookings are essential – Tel (07) 3909 3333 or their website is NOTE: This information is provided in good faith and may change from time-to-time at the discretion of the service provider.

  • Walk: Use the Bush Track Stairs that are located off the cul-de-sac in Trochus Place, or take the long way around using the resort roads.
  • 4wd: Park in the Southern Car Park
    • Exit the Hilltop Estate and turn right onto the Tangalooma Bypass Road.
    • Head West and continue past the Deep Blue Entry.
    • Turn right into the Southern Car Park.
  • Buggy:
    • Exit the Hilltop Estate via the Private Gate onto the Tangalooma Island Resort private roads.
    • Buggies can access and park in designated areas only.
    • Parking is on the upper road behind B Lodge, or on the Esplanade near the Quad Shed meeting point.
    • Buggies can only travel in the areas indicated by the … in the attached map.
    • Buggies CANNOT CROSS RED LINES– as this means NO BUGGY ACCES

Although anyone can watch the nightly dolphin feeding from the Jetty viewing area, actual participation is limited to guests who have booked a dolphin feeding accommodation package directly through the Resort. However, private tenants can put their name on the Standby list at Tangalooma Tours Desk each day after 11am and if there is availability you will be notified and can then pay to participate. The charge also includes your choice of a Marine Discovery Cruise or Whale Watch Cruise (in season). The current adult price is $85 per adult and $55 per child.
